HISTORY OF THE ABREPO SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

The Abrepo Seventh-Day Adventist Church was established out of a two-weeks evangelistic crusade by Bohyen Seventh-day Adventist Church. This was led by Pastor Odomse Akuoko Nyantakyi from 12th to 25th August 2001 at Saint Anthony Hospital, Abrepo Kumar Kumasi.

The church started with twenty- three (23) newly converts who were baptised at the end of the crusade. The church first worshipped at Elder Clement Baffour Akoto ‘s house at Abrepo-kesse on the 1st September 2001.Elder Joseph Kwame Nkrumah was then elected as the first presiding elder who led the church from September 2001 to March 2004.

The church then moved to Abrepo M/A JHS on September 15th, 2001, with a congregation of sixty–three. The church had her first annual harvest on the Febuary, 2002 and accrued an amount of 400,000 (newly GH 400.00).

The church attended her first annual camp-meeting at Trabuom from Wednesday September, 5th to Sunday September 9th,2001.

The Abrepo church was established by Elder Samuel Kotei in 2002.He procured thirty-five (35) choir robes while Madam Grace Badu of Bantama church also bought ten (10) twi hymnal for the choir. The first GACU convention attended by the choir was held at Bechem in the Brong Ahafo Region in April 2007.

Abrepo Seventh-Day Adventist church was organised on October 23, 2004, led by Pasto T. Bobie Danso, Pastor Appiah Mensah and Pastor Isaac Sarfo.During the organisation, a nominating committee was set-up to elect church officers and was a result of Elder Anthony Amoah, Elder Yaw Bediako and Elder Joseph Amo-Mensah were elected as the first church elders.

The church acquired a plot of land at Abrepo-kesse for its church building project. The church was able to raise a structure for worship and moved into it in 2008.
