13th SABBATH AND TRADITIONAL DAY 2019

13th SABBATH AND TRADITIONAL DAY 2019

Abrepo Seventh-Day Adventist Church celebrated one of the most anticipated days of the year, Traditional Day. The Church celebrated the Traditional Day to promote “Unity in diversity “which is based on the concept where the individual or social differences in physical attributes, skin colour, castes, creed, cultural and religious practices, etc. are not looked upon as a conflict. Rather, these differences are looked upon as varieties that enrich the society and the nation as a whole.

Traditional Day was held on the 29th of June 2019 at Abrepo S.D.A Church.  It was an eventful day. It was observed as a celebration of Ghana’s diverse culture. It’s a day designated for people to come in traditional attire from their home state or specific culture of their choice.

The event was inaugurated with prayer, thanksgiving to the almighty God (for his protection and guidance throughout the second quarter of 2019) and the study of the 13th lesson of the Sabbath School lead by the Sabbath School Department. This was followed by Spectacular music performance by the “Evangelicals” and the entire church could not sit but dance to glorify God.

The celebrations were followed by Sabbath School programmes where the Children’s Department had a blast showing their talents on the stage which included recitals of memory tests, presentations and more. The kids were completely in their high traditional competitive spirit. Their inner creativity and potentialities were driven through these traditional programmes.

Elder W.K. Darfah addressed the congregation and the Church Secretary gave a brief announcement blending “Asante Twi” and “Brong” languages which was so much interesting. The programme was fast followed by the “Divine Service” and the sermon of the day was delivered by Pastor S.K. Adusei. Assisted on the pulpit were Elder W.K Darfah, Elder Ben Konadu, Elder Osei Bempah, Elder S.B Afrifa and Elder M.A Atakora

In all, it was a great success and it definitely strengthened the bonds among the Church Members and created respect for ethnic and racial diversity in Ghana.

Everyone at the Abrepo S.D.A Church came dressed in their best ethnic attires. The Church Pastor, Elders, Members, Children and Visitors participated with great ecstasy. Everyone displayed their various cultures by dressing their best which was a colourful treat to the eyes in itself. Lots of pictures were clicked by everyone to create memories of this beautiful day. The atmosphere everywhere was of joy and celebration.

After the Service, everyone gorged on the yummy snacks arranged and took back memories for a lifetime, as we wait for the second coming of the Lord
