SABBATH ADMONITION

SABBATH ADMONITION

Brethren, this is the Holy Sabbath, a time for our worship to the Creator God. Once again we have met in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to show our loyalty to Him who created us.

Shalom. The sky still looks gloomy and indecisive but as people of hope, we have to be persistent and resolute, trusting the Lord our God for His word of peace to be still.

Brethren, this time is the period of prayer of penitence as David prayed in Psalm. –

Psalm 51:1- 15

  1. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
  2. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
  3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is always before me.
  4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that you may be found just when thou speak, and be clear when thou judge.
  5. Behold, I was bought forth in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceive me.
  6. Behold, thou desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
  7. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  8. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
  9. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
  10. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
  11. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me
  12. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
  13. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
  14. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
  15. O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

Friends, all that we see, hear, feel and experience are well informed indexes of what we have long awaited and, so we are privileged even to have had such occurrences manifested in our sight. These are lessons of sobriety, lowliness and godly life that Apostle Paul admonished his Thessalonian congregation on which could be found in

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8

  1. Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
  2. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
  3. for this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication:
  4. That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor;
  5. Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
  6. That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
  7. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
  8. He therefore that reject not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his Holy Spirit.

Finally, friends let’s take heed to the word of God through the Apostle as we get ushered into the holy day of rest.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you, and may the Lord lift his glittering countenance upon you and give you peace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen!

Friends don’t forget to fight COVID-19, by washing your hands all times, always get your hands sensitized whenever you transact business with people you are not sure of their health status. Also remember to adhere to social or physical distancing protocol and wear your nose mask to stay blessed.

Happy Sabbath.
